Minigame

Making this minigame did nothing for me since I already did this last year. Even though I aready did it last year my view on gameas have change alot. I realized how much work it takes to make just a simple flash game I cant image how much work it takes to make an xbox game.

playing to learn part 2

 From playing these games I learned that a good game should contain a learning aspect, but it also needs a fun factor. One factor I think that could be improved is the functionality of the game. I do however like the basic idea of the game.

Game indergents

My game ingredetns are decoy objects, magnifying glass, manage hidden odjects list, and a static hint page. The hardest one was the magnifying glass. I couldn't understand what is wanted me to do so I made a circle. After that Will helped me with the rest.

Hidden objects

I Was told to write about my first using flash and I wasn't given a title so here it goes. This is not my first time using flash. The kinds of actions I would like to use are overlay objects, magnifying glass, simple timer, splash screen.

Drawing the Background

For the past week we have been drawing the screens for our games. For the most part the game was very easy to draw. The only hard part was to make the lines curve.

Making the Paper Prototype

We had to make a paper prototype in class of what the main screen in our game would look like. I have finished. The paper prototpye I feel is a waste of time since we will have to redraw it in flash.

Vision for my game.

The vision of my game is to have a coral reef scrren with human trash and objects that cause coral reef bleaching. I hope my game cause the player to learn more about what they can do to protect the ocean.

Hidden Object Game

In class we are working on a hidden object game. We had to choose a topic for the game. My topic is coral reef bleaching. This topic is very important to me since I am very fond of the ocean and their are dispearing faster than the rain forests.

Playing to Learn

I have learned that I can identify the location of  the wonders of the world in like 1 minute. Ideas that I got from playing these games is that I could make a game much better and more complex then something that takes a second to win.

Single Story

A single story is a story that is stereotypical and is only on sided about a place or community. There are many single story about WV, but on of them is that all West Virginians are hillbillies. Lots of things that are important are missing like the fact that we have running water, and many other civilized things.  A single story i hear all the time is that African's live in huts . I hear this all the time because I was born in South Africa , and I am asked if I was born in a hut all the time. A way people can learn both sides of this single story is to ask someone who has visited or lived there, and they will tell you that African countries are very modern..
